Dear friends:
It is with great disappointment that we announce Assurance’s Board of Directors has decided to cancel the in-person portion of our 2021 banquet. Our Board prayerfully sought the Lord’s will considering numerous factors before coming to an agreement. COVID was certainly among those factors but so were many important considerations in favor of gathering together. We have peace from Christ and confidence in the leading of the Holy Spirit that this is the right, though incredibly difficult, decision. Our disappointment is not a reflection of the decision made but rather because we were so looking forward to being with our supporters. We lament that gathering in person is not what we are called to do right now.
Our plan now is to make the main portions of content from the banquet available online for our sponsors and those they would have hosted at their tables. We expect to launch that on September 27th and have it available for 30 days. It is not too late to sign up as a sponsor and join us for the online banquet experience.
Continuing to be inspired by Hebrews 10:23-25, we will hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. We will not give up on meeting together. Our goal is to look for a safer window of opportunity to gather with our supporters in praise of all that God has done and will do through Assurance. That type of event can be far nimbler than the banquet with its venue, speaker, table sponsors and more to coordinate well in advance. Please join us in looking forward to a praise gathering in our future.
The news this letter brings is not what any of us hoped for. Believe us, canceling the in-person experience of our largest fundraiser of the year is not what we wanted to do. Aside from that, though, we do have incredible news that we want to leave you with. We have remained steadfast in caring for our clients in-person throughout the entire pandemic. Thanks to the continuing support of people like you, we have had the financial resources to do so even with all the changes that have impacted our fundraisers for well over a year. God has used all of that for an amazing life-saving work. So far this year alone, we have an estimated 114 lives saved, far more than the same period in any other recent year. Through it all, great is His faithfulness. Gather with us through the Spirit that unites us even from a distance in praise of the One to whom all glory and honor is due now and forevermore.
May the Lord bless and keep you through these challenging times.
