A note from our director:
Since yesterday’s revelation about leaders in the abortion industry, I have been asked by several people what Assurance is going to do in response.
The short answer is that today we will do what we do every day our doors are open. We will spend time in the Word, and in prayer and then, thanks to the equipping power of the Holy Spirit and the support of individuals, churches and businesses in our community, we will be busy with the work of serving those facing unplanned pregnancies and those struggling with issues from past abortions. We will repeat that cycle of prayer and service throughout our day and will do so again every other day we are given the great privilege to serve.
The slightly longer answer is that we will do what we always do not because what happened yesterday doesn’t matter or change anything, but because we believe the most powerful response we have to offer the epidemic of abortion and the industry that supports it is prayer and the extension of love, truth, grace, mercy, and support to those facing crisis pregnancies. That is the calling of the Assurance team and we act in full confidence and faith that prayer and the Gospel work.
In God’s perfect timing, today is also the monthly meeting of our Prayer Committee and so we will spend even more time in prayer. Will you join us? Will you join me in responding to the call from John Piper to fast and pray for the unborn during lunch today? I would add prayer for the parents of the unborn to that call.
Today, pray and fast for the unborn, their parents, and the rebuilding of a culture of life in our community. “The God of Heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding.” Nehemiah 2:20
One final note, if you have had an abortion(s) and the coverage of yesterday’s news triggered unresolved pain, regret, anger, grief or other struggles, please know you are not alone and we are here for you. There is hope. Contact us today at email@example.com or (859) 278-8469.
May God be glorified in all we do.
